GRANDPA MICHAEL’S PERSPECTIVE - Jessica’s 14-year-old sister, Haily, wanted to share a gift of love, but being financially strapped while knowing that anything that was going to fit her new niece now would be unwearable in another week or two, left her looking for other options. Haily looked all around and realized that Poppy was about the size of many of our wonderfully wardrobed porcelain dolls. What came next was a couple of hours of de-robing the dolls and wrapping the new “on loan” Poppy designer line of baby clothes. Lisa Hatch will recognize most of them as she designed the Marie Osmond collection from which most of the clothes were borrowed.
After getting all of the clothes, Haily then wrapped them all in tissue paper and brought them along to the hospital to see Jessica & Dave and the new twins. What ensued was the biggest laugh-fest that Jessica had experienced in a long time. Tears of joy and pain flowed from Jessica’s eyes as each new outfit was unwrapped. Rolf was not left out of the gift, because he can wear the cutest little bumble bee outfit while Poppy can dress up as a poppy... Literally!!! All I could do was try to hold the camera steady as we all laughed throughout the experience.
